Fire doors done properly, by someone qualified

A fire door only works if it’s installed and maintained correctly — the right door, the right frame, the right gaps and the right ironmongery. Get any of it wrong and it won’t hold back fire and smoke when it matters. That’s why our fire-door work is carried out by a qualified installer: Redline holds a current, FireQual-accredited Fire Door Installation qualification. From a single flat-entrance door to the communal doors throughout a block, the work is done to standard — and left tidy and photographed, so you can show a fire-risk assessor with confidence.

What we do

Fire door fitting & installation

Supply and installation of fire doors and complete doorsets — flat-entrance, communal, stairwell and internal fire doors — correctly hung with the right frame, seals, hinges, closers and hardware.

Fire door remedial works

Putting existing fire doors right so they perform and pass inspection: correcting gaps and clearances, renewing intumescent strips and smoke seals, replacing hinges, closers, latches and locks, and fitting compliant letterplates, spy viewers and signage.

Compliance support

When a fire-door check or fire-risk assessment flags problems, we carry out the installation and remedial works needed to put them right — helping responsible persons meet their obligations for blocks, flats and HMOs.

Why it matters now

Since the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 came into force, the duties on landlords, freeholders and managing agents are clear:

  • In residential buildings over 11 metres, the responsible person must arrange quarterly checks of communal fire doors and annual checks of flat-entrance doors.
  • All multi-occupied residential buildings must give residents information on the importance of fire doors.
  • This sits alongside the overarching duty under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Those checks routinely turn up doors that need work — worn seals, oversized gaps, failed closers, non-compliant hardware, or doors that simply need replacing. That’s where we come in: we carry out the remedial works and installations to put it right, promptly and to standard, so action can be evidenced.

Common questions

Are you qualified to fit fire doors?

Yes — our fire-door installations are carried out by an installer holding a current, FireQual-accredited Fire Door Installation qualification.

Do you do fire-door inspections?

We focus on fitting and remedial works rather than formal inspections — but if your fire-door checks or fire-risk assessment have flagged issues, we’ll carry out the works needed to resolve them.

What’s a “flat-entrance fire door”?

It’s the front door to an individual flat, which in most blocks must be a fire door (commonly FD30) with a self-closer and the correct seals and hardware — one of the items the 2022 Regulations require to be checked.

Which areas do you cover?

Poole, Bournemouth and across Dorset — including Christchurch, Swanage, Wareham and Wimborne.
